Here's a virtual introduction to them!

Kia Māia Bicultural Communications

Kia Māia Bicultural Communications was established in Wellington in 1999 as a specialist consultancy. To achieve their vision of a New Zealand where biculturalism is a natural part of the fabric of daily life, they have developed the ‘Te Rito Bicultural Competency E-Learning Modules’, which they offer for license through a trackable online learning management system (LMS).

These fourteen modules use proven e-learning techniques to provide self-paced and clearly scaffolded personal skill development, with a strongly practical focus for employees in both the public and private sectors. The modules are a superb way to build on and extend the enthusiasm and interest ignited by face-to-face training. They give users the tools and bicultural skills to create ongoing practical outcomes, and they give workplaces the means to benchmark and measure bicultural competency within their organisations, meeting the objectives identified in their organisational planning. A new Educators’ Edition has recently been released specifically for those in the early childhood, primary, secondary and tertiary education sectors.

I was fortunate to grow up bi-cultural and bi-lingual on the banks of the beautiful Whanganui river and regularly re-visit to our spiritual home at the Whanganui Quaker Settlement.
